The Taphouse of Wimborne, which opened its doors in December 2013, has been awarded the East Dorset Campaign For Real Ales (CAMRA) ‘Pub of the Year’ 2014.
CAMRA honours a number of brewers, producers, pubs and clubs every year in recognition of their excellence. The awards range from local and regional awards to the national awards such as the Champion Beer of Britain and the National Pub of Year.
Says co-owner, Gordon Compston,“The Tap House team has beaten off some very strong competition across the region to win this award. We are all absolutely delighted to be crowned winners most especially as it has been given to us in our first year of trading. We could not have done this without our fantastic team, our excellent local suppliers and of course our amazing customers!
“The next part of our journey is that we are now entered into the national awards as well.”
CAMRA is an independent, voluntary organisation campaigning for real ale, community pubs and consumer rights, they support well-run pubs as the centre of community life.
