The Priest’s House Museum & Garden in Wimborne Minster welcomes Doppelganger Production’s play about Robert Louis Stevenson on Tuesday 27 October, 7pm in the Hilda Coles Open Learning Centre.
‘The Weevil in the Biscuit’ is a 70-minute play written by award winning local playwright John Foster, followed by an after show Q&A with the writer, director, cast and audience.
In his Bournemouth home, sickly Robert Louis Stevenson is inspired by a nightmare. Bedridden, nursed by his matriarchal American wife, Fanny, he feverishly writes the first draft of ‘The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde’… and burns it. Set in 1886, this play depicts Stevenson’s creative struggles in writing his iconic tale of the divided self.
