Police in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses to come forward after nine clay pigeon traps were stolen.
Sometime between 5pm on Thursday 7 January and 8am on Friday 8 January, thieves stole nine clay pigeon traps from the Southern Counties Shooting ground at Wardon Hill.
Each of the traps were bolted to a wooden pallet and it is possible the offenders lifted the pallets and carried them to a trailer.
Eight to the traps were Promatic and one Laporte. Attendant power and control mechanisms were also stolen.
Police Constable David Williams, of Dorchester police, said: “Due to the weight of the traps, a number of people would have been needed to carry them.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard a group of people in the area of the shooting ground or Wardon Hill between the relevant times to please call me on 101.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered or seen clay pigeon traps or equipment for sale locally, to please contact me.”
