Can you feel it? Well the audience at the Pavilion Theatre on Thursday night certainly could. The energy, passion, and talent that have made Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5 such musical legends came to life in front of us. This exceptionally talented cast’s enthusiasm was totally infectious and they had the audience up and dancing within 20 minutes.
There were no attempts to create a story with the music, instead hit after hit blasted out as the audience revelled in the musical journey as we celebrated the albums which topped the charts, and the singles which became the soundtrack to life during Michael Jackson’s 40 year ‘reign’ as king of pop.
With sparkling glitz and glamour, amazing dancing and energy, and a live band, this spectacular touring show packed everyone’s favourites into over two hours of sizzling excitement.
The show, which is in its recording breaking 5th year in London, has been seen by over two million people in over 26 countries, all wanting to celebrate the career of one of the world’s greatest entertainers.
The four lead vocalists, including Cleo Higgs, who at the age of 13 was lead singer of 90s group Cleopatra, and is just about to join the West End cast of the show, excelled as they brought Michael Jackson’s chart hits to life.
The cast captured his innovative dance movements and style and as they covered ABC, Off The Wall, The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Billie Jean, Dirty Diana, Bad, Rock With You, They Don’t care About Us, Heal The World, Thriller and many more.
This isn’t a tribute show but a celebration of everything that was so thrilling about the king of pop. It’s on at the Pavilion until Saturday 21 June – don’t miss your chance to relive the magic.
