Tie a yellow ribbon at Poole hospice
You can dedicate a yellow ribbon to a loved one on 15 June and it will be displayed in the garden of Forest Holme.
After a two-year hiatus, Forest Holme Hospice is bringing back its Tie a Yellow Ribbon event on 16 June to mark Hospice Awareness Month.
Each symbolic ribbon is yellow, which is a colour commonly associated with the hospice movement, and is displayed in the hospice garden throughout the summer featuring the name of the person being remembered and any message of dedication.
For those who are unable to attend but would still like to make a dedication, the staff at the hospice will happily make it in their absence and anyone can make a dedication, irrespective of whether their loved ones attended the hospice.
Kirsty Perks, fundraiser at Forest Holme, said: “Tie A Yellow Ribbon is such a special date in the Forest Holme calendar and we are so glad that we can host it again in the hospice garden. The event is open to absolutely anyone who has lost a loved one and wants to make a dedication and donation in memory of them, whilst also helping to support the care of future patients and their families.”
If you would like to dedicate a yellow ribbon, please visit Forest Holme at 5 Seldown Road, Poole BH15 1TS on Thursday 16 June between 10am and 4pm. There will be live music and refreshments and homemade cakes will be available during the day.
If you are unable to visit the hospice and would like a member of the fundraising team to write and tie a ribbon on your behalf, please visit www.forestholmehospice.org.uk/donations/tayr/ or contact the hospice on 01202 670644 or email fundraising@forestholmehospice.org.uk
