TikTok stars in Poole for free workshops
The Dolphin Centre is hosting the sessions in the GATHER Unit in partnership with Bournemouth University.
If you would like to learn more about TikTok, Poole’s Dolphin Centre is the place to be on Saturday 13 August.
Free workshops on the video-hosting service are to be held in the GATHER Unit in partnership with Bournemouth University.
There will be two one-hour sessions available and a ‘meet and greet’ opportunity with guest TikTok stars. Bournemouth University’s marketing team will also share insight into the latest TikTok trends, how to create content for a specific audience and using the app’s algorithm to go viral.
John Grinnell, Dolphin Centre manager, said: “With TikTok’s popularity continuing to be on the rise, we wanted budding content creators to have a space to meet likeminded people and come away from our workshops feeling like they’ve learned something new, whether that’s a better understanding of the app or mastering a tricky transition.”
Following the workshop, TikTok stars, Aaliyah de Gracia and Chrystiane Jowy (CJ), will be in attendance for a ‘meet and greet’. Aaliyah is a BU graduate with 2.1 million followers and her boyfriend CJ has 8.5 million followers. Attendees will be able to use their new information to create their own TikToks with the assistance of free use of iPads and handy props with Aaliyah and CJ, who will both be on hand to help spark creative inspiration. The free use of iPads and handy props will be available on the day.
John said: “This event is part of our carefully curated line-up of community events for 2022. We have been blown away by the response to our previous events such as Pride and Mental Health Awareness Week and look forward to hosting more throughout the remainder of the year. Our next event in September is our Big Green Screen event and we will also host Black History Month this October, which we’ll share more on in due course.”
The TikTok workshops are at 11am and 2pm on Saturday 13 August and are free to attend. Spaces are bookable through the Dolphin Centre’s events team; alternatively there will be walk-in availability on the day. To register your interest, please contact: events@lizleanpr.co.uk
