Christchurch Borough Council has taken emergency action to fell two trees in Druitt Gardens which became unsafe and were assessed as being a danger to the public following works carried out to implement the planning permission at the Cornfactor site.
James Hassett, Head of Economy and Growth, Christchurch and East Dorset Councils explained: “The council agreed that although there are tree preservation orders in place on certain trees, two trees were deemed to be dangerous by the Council’s tree officer. Taking into account the ongoing extreme weather conditions and to ensure public safety the council arranged for them to be felled this afternoon. The work is now complete and Druitt Gardens is open as usual.”
