The family of a 49-year-old man, Peter Worrall, who tragically died in Bournemouth following a fatal collision near the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Sunday (13 December) has paid tribute to him.
They said: “Peter was a much loved husband, brother, father, stepfather and grandad and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was a popular person both at his place of work at Key Industrial Equipment in Verwood and the gym which he belonged to. He was liked by everyone who met him.”
Peter and his wife Julie moved to Bournemouth five years ago following a promotion Peter got within his company. Peter loved the Bournemouth area.
The collision involved a Volvo V40 car and two pedestrians. The second pedestrian, a 48-year-old woman, also from Bournemouth, sustained serious pelvis and head injuries and was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for treatment. Her condition is said to be serious, but stable.
A 25-year-old man from Bransgore was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail until the beginning of March 2016 pending further enquiries.
Witnesses to the collision should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 13:332, or call the Crimestoppers line.
