University student wins Mini Cooper in Beaulieu's prize draw
When a computer games design student from Southampton was told he’d won a Mini Cooper Classic Convertible, he kept asking: “Are you joking?”
Odafe Jagboro, the winner of the National Motor Museum Trust 2022 Prize Draw at Beaulieu was handed the keys for the brand-new Mini Cooper Classic Convertible by Lord Montagu.
He was presented with the sporty soft-top outside the Montagu ancestral home of Palace House and said: “My girlfriend Anya brought me to Beaulieu as a birthday surprise, and she bought my car raffle ticket as an early birthday gift.
“I’ll need to learn how to drive a manual car as I’ve learnt to drive using an automatic. It’s an amazing car in pristine condition that I’ve won for £2. The best birthday present I’ve had in my life. Anya and I opened a bottle of prosecco to celebrate the evening we had the phone call from the National Motor Museum.”
Present at the handover of the car keys was Rashid Lamjafjaf of Group 1 Mini, Farnborough.
The annual prize draw offers the chance to win a car for a £2 ticket and raises money for the National Motor Museum Trust, a charitable organisation, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting motoring history.
The money-can’t-buy second prize of a seat on the 2023 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run with the chance to take part in the legendary event as a passenger in one of the National Motor Museum’s treasured historic vehicles, including accommodation in London for one night, has been won by Siqi Han from Southampton. The third prize of a trip for three people around the New Forest in a vehicle from the National Motor Museum collection was won by Robin Jarvis from Westbury, Wiltshire.
For a chance to win the 2023 National Motor Museum Trust Prize Draw for a car, tickets are on sale at £2.
