Upcoming interruptions to train services
There will be disruptions to train travel in the South West due to the planned national strike between 21 and 26 June.
Train journeys in the South West will be severely disrupted between 21 and 26 June, should a planned national strike go ahead.
South Western Railway will be running a severely reduced timetable and is advising passengers to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary during the days of the strike.
On the strike days – 22, 24 and 26 June – there will be a late-starting Sunday level of service. A severely limited service will run between 7.15am and 6.30pm on some routes for those who have no choice but to travel.
SWR will run a late-starting Sunday level of service across the network on 22, 24 and 26 June, although disruption is expected throughout the week.
The reduced timetable will see significant parts of the network closed entirely and those trains that are running will be far less frequent compared to normal.
The reduced timetable will consist of:
- Four trains per hour in each direction between Waterloo and Windsor via Hounslow
- Two semi-fast trains per hour in each direction between Waterloo and Basingstoke
- Four trains per hour in each direction between Waterloo and Woking
- Two fast trains per hour in each direction between Waterloo and Southampton
Trains will not stop at all stations on these routes and there will be no service across the rest of the network.
