Local digital agency Upperdog Ltd, has been announced as a semi-finalist in the Natwest Dorset Venus Awards for the New Business award.
Thirty applications for the New Business award were whittled down to just six semi-finalists, all of which are new companies operating in Dorset. The Venus Awards began in 2009 and acknowledge women in business communities across the UK.
The next stage of the awards comes down to a round of interviews being completed in April. The finalists will be announced on 1 May 2014 at the Norfolk Royal Hotel in Bournemouth.
Upperdog’s 1st birthday was celebrated in February, and being shortlisted for this award is one of the highlights of the last 14 months. Notable achievements include being awarded Google Partner status by meeting strict criteria, and being listed on the Recommended Agency Register (RAR.)
Alongside this success, Upperdog has been doing what the company’s founder, Zhara Woods, set out to do – provide professional online marketing skills and help support charities, particularly animal ones. Recent charity work includes an Upperdog charity dog walk in October raising money for Waggy Tails Rescue and Autism Wessex; participation in Movember, and in December the pack supported Friends of the Strays of Greece on Bournemouth beach.
