Beat the fare increase by using your GLO smartcard.
That’s the message from Yellow Buses which is increasing the cost of cash fares from 27 January 27.
A short hop single will rise from £1.40 to £1.50 while a short hop return will increase from £2 to £2.20.
A medium hop single will increase from £1.80 to £1.90 and a medium hop day return from £2.70 to £2.90.
However, customers can beat the increase by storing credit on their GLO smartcard.
Fares purchased through the Yellows’ innovative electronic purse have not increased and, in the case of adults, are cheaper than cash fares. Child fares remain unchanged.
GLO passes available online or from drivers have also not increased.
Passengers can top-up their ‘GLO’ cards through the Yellows’ tablet-friendly website as well as on the bus or at its office in Bournemouth Square.
Any online top-ups completed before midnight will be ready the next morning to collect through the ticket machine on the bus.
