Watch our new video where we visit the food bank where supplies were stolen during the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Workers at a food bank in Wimborne were devastated to discover that its supplies had been stolen during a break-in over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The team at Wimborne Foodbank+ discovered on Tuesday 22 April that its food supply shed had been broken into during the weekend.
Supplies stolen included: tinned fish, tinned spaghetti, corned beef and ham, meat meals, meatballs, hot dogs, baked beans, ravioli, pasta sauce, long Life milk, pasta, rice, spaghetti, soup, tinned tomatoes, empty bags, bottles of squash and toilet rolls.
After news of the burglary spread, residents rallied round to make donations and replenish the food bank’s shelves.
Speaking exclusively to Dorset View, the food bank’s manager Sharon Keenan thanked everyone for their kind donations. She said: “Ourselves, the managers and volunteers are very overwhelmed by the response from our community.“The food bank has always been very well supported in Wimborne, but it’s been very overwhelming and heartwarming.”
