Ferndown commemorated VJ Day and the final ending of World War Two with a service in the town’s Garden of Remembrance in Church Road.
Led by a lone piper, standards and bugler, the Mayor of Ferndown Cllr Julie Robinson laid a wreath before unveiling a memorial seat in the garden as a lasting legacy.
Members of the Royal British Legion, local associations and people of Ferndown lit candles of remembrance to burn throughout the day.
