Bournemouth residents are being invited to take part in a litter pick along the seafront today, Friday 21 February.
Organised by Bournemouth Council’s seafront team, volunteers wanting to take part should meet at Boscombe Pier at 1pm.
All necessary equipment will be provided by the Council including hi visibility vests, bags, gloves and litter grabbers to help carry out the clean up, but if you have any those items please bring them along.
Following the severe storms of last week, which damaged up to 600 beach huts, Council teams have undergone an extensive clean up operation this week on the seafront, re-aligning beach huts and removing debris.
Chris Saunders, seafront manager, said:
“We want to return our award winning beaches back to their best, but we need a little help. We know residents have been keen to support with the clean-up operation, which is fantastic. Now that the dangerous debris has been removed and it is safe we would encourage as many residents as possible to get involved.”
