Two special commemorative walks in Bournemouth proved popular as a way of marking the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
More than 40 people, including the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth Dr Rodney Cooper and his wife Elaine, took part.
The walks were based on the memories of respected historian John Walker, now 81, who was evacuated to the town with fellow pupils from his Portsmouth school. He described the days leading up to D-Day in 1944, and a number of walkers contributed anecdotes of their own experiences and added stories told to them by their relatives.
