“We will be less scary” says Garden Centre

The workers at the Ferndown Haskins Garden Centre who on last year’s Halloween evening designed their own costumes and props to create a great evening to support charity, have promised to make it less scary this year.

General Manager Simon Morris says that whilst hundreds of families enjoyed the very creative displays viewed around the centre, there were a few that complained after the event that their children had been frightened.

“I must admit it came as a shock to receive a number of complaints after everyone appeared to have a fun evening, with activities including a fancy dress competition, and activities including face painting, spooky storytelling,” said Simon.  “But then we do find that some young children are scared to meet our Santa at our Christmas events who looks very friendly!”

Last year’s Halloween event at the centre raised £800 for the Youth Cancer Trust.  The team hopes to raise more this year for Diverse Abilities Trust, their charity of the year.
