Wellbeing event supports local young people
In partnership with Strategic Solutions and Bournemouth University, The Shine Project held its 3rd Wellbeing Event on 28 March.
Piloted in 2017, this was the third Wellbeing experience day held by local charity The Shine Project, which is an established Dorset charity that has been supporting young people’s physical and mental health since 2007.
The Wellbeing Event promotes healthy behaviours and connects young people and schools to support services using interactive stands, workshops and speakers.
It aims to not only leave young people inspired with tools and coping mechanisms but also gives them the connections with other organisations so that they can access further support as required.
As well as workshops and interactive stands, the event started with an introduction and inspirational speaker, Alex Blower.
Wellbeing 2024 attracted over 150 young people, 60 volunteers and stand holders and The Shine Project looks forward to continuing its early intervention courses and other such events in the future to support young people.
