West Moors painted pebbles mark Queen's 70-year reign
Children from the three schools in West Moors painted pebbles provided by the Town Council to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The 550 small rocks were decorated in colourful designs chosen by the children to mark the momentous occasion of the Queen’s 70-year reign.
Princess Elizabeth officially became monarch on 6 February 1952 at the age of 25. She ascended to the throne following the death of her father George VI and she has become the first British monarch to reach the 70-year milestone.
To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 1952-2022, councillors and staff of West Moors Town Council arranged the 550 painted stones to create a display on the Petwyn.
In June, West Moors Town Council will also be providing party packs to the residents of the local care homes so they are able to celebrate the Jubilee between 2-5 June despite not being at home or out with their loved ones.
