West Parley Memorial Hall vandalised
Anyone who saw anything suspicious at West Parley Memorial Hall over the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May should contact Dorset police.
Thieves broke into West Parley Memorial Hall in Christchurch Road sometime between 6.30pm on Saturday 25 May and 2.30pm on Sunday 26 May.
During the incident, damage was caused to fire extinguishers and furnishings in the building.
Police Constable Tom Harness, of Dorset Police, said: “This was a despicable and reckless act on a building that was built in memorial to those who gave their lives in World War I.
“We are doing all we can to identify who was responsible for gaining entry to this building that is well-loved by the local community.
“I would like to make a direct appeal to the offenders to do the right thing and come forward.
“Also, I am keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240078662. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
