More than 140 local business professionals enjoyed a revved up wheels experience recently. After receiving their special souvenir pit passes, guests gained an exclusive preview of the festival’s most prestigious super cars and entrance to a VIP drinks reception at the Super Car Arena on the Bournemouth’s Pier Front.
The guests all boarded open-topped buses in the evening sunshine and took a ride from the beach front up to the Hallmark Carlton hotel. On arrival guests were greeted by the Grand Prix stilt walker and an array of Mercedes cars at the front of the hotel. After checking out the collection of cars guests enjoyed their pit stop of a chilled glass or two of fizz or gin.
Perry McCarthy, famously known as the original Stig on Top Gear and as an F1 racing driver, chatted to the guests during the drinks reception whilst guests networked and caught up with contacts.
To further fuel the guests taste-buds a three-course wheels themed dinner was created which was complemented with wines.
After dinner Perry McCarthy the original Stig, delivered an up close and personal insight into his life in the fast lane in F1 and his role as the black-suited Stig on BBCs Top Gear, as well as giving the audience a chance to ask questions.
The winner of the Mercedes car for the weekend was drawn by The Stig. Warren Munson was declared the winner and was presented with a voucher to test drive a Mercedes E-class for a weekend by Martin White, Dealer Principal from Sandown Mercedes Benz of Poole, Paul Clarke Chairman of the Coastal BID and The Stig.
