NEWS FEED
Cheryl Broad, a Wimborne Barber, has offered to have all her hair shaved off at an event to be held in Wimborne Square on Saturday 13 August. It is proposed to make this part of a fun event, which will take place throughout the day raising funds for Poole Hospital Cancer Treatment Trust, more commonly known as the Poole Body Scanner Appeal.
Cheryl has found that sadly, over the years, a number of her customers have passed away as a result of various forms of cancer, and she felt she would like to do something to raise funds for a local Cancer Charity. She wanted to support this local charity, which has no paid officers or employees and over many years has been providing equipment for Poole Hospital to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Supporters of the Charity will be on hand throughout the day to assist with information and to help Cheryl in raising funds.
Cheryl proposes to have her head shaved by a fellow barber – and if you want to clip a little on the way, go along to the Square on the day. Scissors will be provided – not razors! Or, if you also want to have your own head shaved and raise funds for this wonderful charity, please contact the Chairman Stuart Dean on 01202 888895.
The Charity is currently raising £500,000 to enter into a joint scheme with the Hospital and Alliance Medical to further develop the range of equipment available to treat the people of Dorset who suffer from all forms of Cancer. More information is on their website at www.poolescannerappeal.org.uk.
Keep an eye open for more information as the day approaches – 13 August – and the fun will start around 10am in Wimborne Square.
