The annual spring coffee morning held at the home of Anthony and Christine Oliver on Saturday morning,17 May, raised £461 for Wimborne In Bloom. On a fine sunny morning around 80 people attended and they were able to sit out and enjoy the garden. A bring and buy stall, a plant sale and a raffle helped to swell the proceeds all of which will be used towards this years ‘In Bloom’ Campaign. The Mayor’s daughter, Alisha Hampton drew the raffle. Wimborne in Bloom has been very grateful for the support given by the Mayor, Cllr Andy Hampton during his last mayoral year when he nominated ‘In Bloom’ as one of the Mayoral Charities and for the contribution which was received at the recent Mayor Making.
The next Wimborne in Bloom event is the Wimborne Open Gardens Day on Sunday 29 June. Around 20 gardens will be open in and around the town. There are a number of new ones, some returning after an absence and some regulars. Refreshments will be available at some of the venues.
Judgement Day for the Town in the Regional Competition is on Tuesday 8 July with the local competition taking place during the week commencing Monday 30 June. Entry forms are available in the Tourist Information Centre.
