Wimborne’s Michael Burr will be returning to Dorset this month when he plays the lead male role in Essence of Ireland at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre.
As a child, Michael trained at Studio One (Dorset’s Centre of Performing Arts) under the guidance of Principal Denise Booth, before leaving to further his career in dance and musical theatre.
After graduating from Stella Mann College (where he received a full scholarship), Michael has remained in full employment including working already on two previous UK tours of Essence of Ireland, pantomimes at Birmingham Hippodrome and the Mayflower Southampton and on various cruise ships.
Michael is delighted to be returning the Pavilion where he first performed at the age of ten with Studio One.
Joining him on stage on 23 April will be Studio One Performers who have been invited to take part in the performance.
Michael said: “It’s great to be coming home to where it all began – and to be performing on stage again with Studio One dancers.”
