Wimborne Food Festival to return for a second helping
Wimborne BID has announced that the Wimborne Food Festival will return for a second year this September.

If you missed out on last year’s Wimborne Food Festival, then good news as Wimborne BID has confirmed the festival will return for a second year.
Taking place on Saturday 20 September, the Wimborne Food Festival is a celebration of the town’s food and drink offers. Last year, thousands of people enjoyed tastings, talks and demonstrations, alfresco dining and live music around the town.
Locations for this year’s festival are already confirmed and will include Willow Walk near Waitrose and East Street. This year, there will be a Dorset Farmers Market offering a regional produce in the town square, as well as plans for there to be more activities for children to enjoy.
Ione Crossley, BID director and co-owner of independent business Salamander Cookshop said: “In 2024, the first Wimborne Food Festival celebrated the outstanding range of independent local food and drink businesses in our lovely market town, and their local suppliers. This year we hope to see the festival grow and continue to promote Wimborne as a place to visit and enjoy.”
Alongside Wimborne BID, the event is being sponsored once again by independent electrical retailer, Dacombes of Wimborne. A working party, which includes owners of local food businesses, has been established. Organisers are also working with community food groups, Wimborne Community Garden and the Friendly Food Club.
Wimborne BID Manager Tammy Sleet said: “This year we want to grow the festival and still keep true to its ethos. It’s first and foremost about Wimborne’s delicious food and drinks businesses. It’s Wimborne itself that’s on the menu! We want this festival to stay local and benefit the bottom line of Wimborne traders.”
If you’re interested in being part of Wimborne Food Festival as a stall holder, a speaker, offering a cooking demonstration or competition, Wimborne BID would like to hear from you. Email Tammy Sleet office@wimborne.info for more information.
