Wimborne man to appear on BBC’s The Repair Shop today
Local entrepreneur Ron Martin will appear on The Repair Shop this evening on BBC One at 8pm.
A veteran of the showbiz world and resident of Wimborne Minster is set to appear on television screens this evening, 11 September, at 8pm.
Ron Martin will be on BBC’s The Repair Shop, a programme about a workshop where broken or damaged family heirlooms are brought back to life.
Ron’s career, which began in his teens as a magician, led him to the south coast where he collaborated closely with Harry Corbett as Sweep on the iconic Sooty show. Ron eventually settled in Wimborne as a successful theatre manager. Even in semi-retirement, Ron continues to contribute to the local arts scene by producing the ‘Best Ever Christmas Show’ at Wimborne’s Allendale Centre.
In a nostalgic twist, Ron will be entrusting the experts in The Repair Shop with his very first stage prop from 65 years ago, marking a sentimental journey back to his roots in the entertainment industry.
Tune in this evening at 8pm on BBC to learn more about Ron’s life story.
