Wimborne Mayor to host civic service
This year’s civic service to be hosted by the Mayor of Wimborne, Cllr Kelly Webb, takes place on Sunday 8 May.
Local people are invited to attend the Mayor of Wimborne’s civic service, which takes place in the minster on Sunday 8 May.
Cllr Kelly Webb said: “The town will be welcoming civic dignitaries from Dorset and neighbouring towns to the minster and colours and standards from a number of local organisations will be presented during the service. A parade with all dignitaries participating will commence at 2.15-2.30pm from Church House, on to the High Street, turning into The Square, then turning into Church Street and entering The Cornmarket and onto the pathway to The Minster.”
The service will be conducted by The Rev Canon Andrew Rowland, rector of Wimborne Minster.
Commencing at 3pm, it is expected to last approximately 45 minutes, after which refreshments will be served at Church House.
Attendees are asked to be seated by 2.45pm.
