Former Salisbury MP, Robert Key, entertained an audience at Wimborne Minster last Saturday and spoke about the heritage of the minster church, his life in parliament and his current role in General Synod.
Politics students from Corfe Hills School were amongst those who participated in a lively question and answer session afterwards.
The programme included musical performances by students from Canford School, and during the interval everyone enjoyed wine and cheese.
The evening was attended by local Liberal Democrat MP Annette Brooke and her husband, and also by the prospective Conservative candidate, Michael Tomlinson. A retiring collection raised over £800 for minster funds.
The Rector, the Rev’d Vanessa Herrick said it was, “an entertaining evening of music, politics, food and faith – our warmest thanks to Robert Key and students from Canford and Corfe Hills schools for stimulating, challenging and provoking us with their questions and responses. A truly cross-generational event for the benefit of the minster and the wider community.”
