Wimborne’s visit to Bashley last Saturday saw them vie for the David Jose Memorial Trophy. The score stood at 2-2 at 90 minutes with George Webb and Jamie Davidson scoring the Magpies’ goals. But Bashley emerged as victors, winning the penalty shoot-out 5-4.
The Magpies concluded their pre-season schedule with the visit of Bridport. They proved to be tough opponents, and Wimborne had to fight back from a 1-0 deficit to win 3-2. Matt Kemble continued his rich vein of form by scoring a double.
Wimborne Town start their fourth season in the Calor (Southern) League on Saturday with a road trip to Yate Town. Starting the season away from home has become a habit for the Magpies in recent years and they make their return to Cuthbury on Tuesday 20 August in a Division One South & West clash against visiting Godalming Town, kick off 7.45pm.
