Wimborne Road West to be closed for five nights
The road is to be resurfaced following the work on the provision of cycle and pedestrian lanes over the past months.
People driving along Wimborne Road West have become used to traffic hold-ups over the past few months as work on the provision of cycle and pedestrian lanes have been taking place.
And now motorists are going to have to find an alterative route from Canford Bottom to Wimborne on five nights from 12 July.
Overnight closures will be from 8pm until 6am the following morning. During these closures a diversion route through Colehill will be in place, which will take traffic along Canford Bottom, Middle Hill Road, Wimborne Road and Rowland’s Hill.
The closures are necessary to allow for the re-surfacing of the road to be carried out.
At the same time, the two entrances to Stapehill Cresent will also be temporarily closed. Each will close on different days with one entrance remaining open whilst the other closes to ensure access to the crescent is maintained. The eastern entrance will be closed on 13 July for 24hrs and the western entrance will be closed on 14 July for 24hrs. This is to allow re-surfacing of the junctions to happen at the same time as the adjacent section of Wimborne Road West.
During these night-time closures, local access to properties may be temporarily restricted. Any residents needing special consideration for deliveries or mobility should contact the dedicated TCF Dorset Direct hotline on 01305 221025 before the closures begins.
