Wimborne school grounds to be transformed in new project
Horticulture experts from Knoll Gardens Foundation and Planet Wimborne will help to transform the outdoor space at Wimborne First School.

The outdoor space at Wimborne First School is to be transformed by a team of horticulture experts led by the education centre DEED and funded by a grant from Talbot Village Trust.
The project will be used to enable young people to understand and connect with nature to promote their wellbeing and feel empowered to take positive action for the environment.
Horticulture expert Rebecca Bourdon and volunteer experts from Knoll Gardens Foundation and Planet Wimborne will help with the project, which began late last year with a visit to the site and the construction of a polytunnel and shelter.
The project is now officially being launched with DEED informing families and wider community of the plan for the coming year.
Sarah Wise from DEED said: “We start with a whole school assembly at the beginning of March, then look forward to working alongside staff and pupils to explore their connection to nature with workshops, inspiring speakers, practical food growing and nature friendly gardening activities which will be included across the whole school.
“The aim is for everyone to connect with their place and feel empowered to be able to make a positive difference.”
