Wimborne Town legend Paul Roast returned to Cuthbury last Saturday ahead of the game with AFC Bournemouth for a special presentation to commemorate his 14 years of service to the football club.
Roast, who during his time with the Magpies served as club captain then assistant manager, stood down earlier in the summer.
Wimborne took on a talented Bournemouth Development squad and the game was goalless at half-time. But the Cherries struck twice early in the second half and finished the game as 4-0 winners. The Magpies suffered a further setback as Ian Oliver, with blood streaming from a head wound, had to be substituted.
Two days earlier Wimborne went down 3-0 at Poole Town. Poole scored twice in first half injury time and grabbed a third in time added-on at the end of the second period.
This Saturday Wimborne visit Gillingham Town for their final preseason game. Their regular season starts at Merthyr Town on 9 August.
