Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) is holding a Wild About Wimborne event at the Minster Green in Wimborne on Saturday, 20 September from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
There will be a whole host of fun activities, including face-painting, storytelling, children’s crafts, rush weaving and more. There will also be a unique opportunity to experience some of the finest local wildlife Dorset has to offer, including the chance to get up close with an owl and some bats, as well as some of the creatures that inhabit the nearby River Allen.
DWT Conservation Officer and event organiser, Amanda Broom said, “Wild About Wimborne is a celebration of just how great a place Wimborne is for all types of wildlife. The town is home to some of Britain’s best wildlife, including kingfishers and otters, and this event is the perfect way to experience that first-hand. So whether you want to build your own bug home, learn some new ‘wild skills’ or just relax and browse our beautiful gift stalls and grab a bite to eat, Wild About Wimborne has something for all the family to enjoy.
