Wimborne’s Millstream Theatre joins LoungeAid
In June, people will be able to enjoy several events at Piazzo Lounge, including a performance from Millstream Theatre.

Arts, culture and lounging are to be brought together in Wimborne.
As part of LoungeAid 2025, Piazzo Lounge are partnering with Millstream Theatre which is based at the Museum of East Dorset.
The Theatre is a company of learning disabled/neurodivergent adults led by professional theatre-makers Tony Horitz and Tam Gilbert.
Sam Doyle, LoungeAid representative, approached Millstream Theatre with the hope of partnering on some colourful performances in their venue.
Over the past decade, Millstream Theatre has used the museum’s collection as a stimulus for storytelling and drama. In recent years, Millstream have produced work including the online short film ‘The Woodcutter and the Swan’ (produced as a result of Covid-19), outdoor site specific work with Wimborne Community Theatre at Badbury Rings (‘Glow Badbury’) as well as performing their most recent cabaret show ‘In Harmony’ to audiences both at their home venue in the MED museum as well as Dorchester Arts Centre.
LoungeAid runs throughout June with a full programme of events to raise funds for Millstream Theatre including quizzes (every Monday in June at 7pm), open mic night (12 June), bake sale (17–18 June), a live poetry performance by James Kenward (19 June), wet sponge throwing at Piazzo staff (21 June) plus lots more fun and games.
Millstream’s short new free taster ‘Hats It!’ will be performed at The Piazzo Lounge, Wimborne Square at 12.30pm on Saturday 24 May. Donations for the fundraiser are welcome.
