THE WINNERS
AFC Bournemouth’s Simon Francis has announced the winner of his infection prevention schools project with Nuffield Health Hospital Bournemouth.
Selected out of more than 100 entries from schools across Dorset who participated in the ‘Bug Busters’ workshops, the winning poster was designed by Keeley Twinning aged 8 from Mudeford Junior School.
Along with the two runner-ups Benjamin Sawdon, aged 8 and Amy Agg Jones, aged 7, also from Mudeford Junior School, Keeley came to the newly promoted Cherries’ home ground to meet player ambassador for Bug Busters Simon Francis and his fellow teammates where they were presented with their prizes.
As the winner Keeley’s prize includes tickets to a game next season and her charming ‘Cherry Bear says wash your hands’ poster will be on the walls of AFC Bournemouth’s Goldsands Stadium next season reminding all the Premier League football fans of the importance of personal hygiene in a public place.
Player ambassador Simon Francis said: “Our congratulations to Keeley for showing germs the red card by designing the winning ‘Bug Busters’ poster! We want to thank all the school children for taking onboard the lessons from our infection prevention sessions by producing these posters – we were very impressed by the standard of all the posters we received.”
David McNair, Nuffield Health Hospital Director, added: “It was no easy feat picking the winning poster as we were inundated with entries from school children across Dorset. Throughout the judging process Keeley’s poster really stood out as she managed to take the key hygiene messages from our ‘Bug Busters’ sessions and combine them with a fun AFC Bournemouth design. Mudeford Junior School should be very proud to have produced all three winners. “
