Last year more than 600 people took part in the parade with 14 different acts and bands appearing on stage at Winton Carnival in Bournemouth.
This year it takes place on 25 June starting off with a parade at 10.45am with the Bournemouth Carnival Band entertaining in their usual unpredictable way. At about 11am, the main parade, led by town crier David Squire, will make its way down Wimborne Road along Cardigan Road and Maxwell Road to the Winton Recreation Ground where stalls, attractions and the stage featuring non-stop live music will be in full swing.
The carnival is run by volunteers so relies on the public for donations and for help with marshalling. If you want to get involved or for more information go to www.wintoncarnival.co.uk/index.html
This year, the carnival’s organisers are encouraging the public to take part in Count On Me, which is a local community campaign aiming to change the behavioural shift needed in dealing with our changing climate by having cleaner vehicles and renewable energy.
