Officers in Sherborne are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a number of vehicles were damaged in the town.
The incident took place sometime between 5pm on Saturday 23 March 2013 and 8.30am on Sunday 24 March 2013 at Newlands North Car Park.
Those responsible targeted five cars in total at the location pouring paint over them.
Police Constable Simon Lancey, of Sherborne police, said: “This thoughtless crime has caused serious damage to a number of vehicles while they were securely parked.
“These actions have not only caused an obvious inconvenience to the car owners but great expense as well.
“The paint has also damaged the tarmac in the car park and this will need repairing.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or may have information about those involved to contact police in confidence.”
No arrests have been made.
