Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a camera was stolen from a vehicle in the Branksome.
The incident happened at around 2.15pm on 13 March 2013, outside a property on Cranbrook Road, but wasn’t reported to police until 28 March.
The camera, an Olympus Dark with a silver rim cap, was stolen from the victim’s car which was parked on his drive at the time of the incident. It was in a leather Olympus branded case which also contained three memory cards full of photographs.
Police Sergeant Andy Napper, of Poole police, said: “This theft has left the victim, a 53-year-old local man, devastated.
“The three memory cards contained a large number of family photos, including pictures of his late wife who recently passed away.
“The victim is extremely concerned he may never get these photos back.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident take place, or may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence to contact us immediately.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may be offered a camera matching the above description in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.
“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
