Woman assaulted in Bournemouth
The police say they understand there were a number of people in the area at the time and they would like to speak to witnesses.
A man has been arrested and charged following a reported assault near the Texaco petrol station in Holdenhurst Road shortly before 8pm on Saturday 15 October.
The man was known to the victim.
Charged with assault, the 43-year-old local man appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 October. He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 17 November.
Police Constable Stephen Taylor, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and from our enquiries, we understand there were a number of people in the vicinity, including members of the public who got out of their vehicles to assist the woman involved.
“I would like to speak to these people as they may have important information that could assist our investigation.
“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
