World Book Day colouring and writing competition
Children won’t be back to school in time for World Book Day on 4 March, but you can still celebrate with online activities.
Ferndown Community Coronavirus Support is running a competition so that children don’t have to miss out on World Book Day this year.
There is a colouring competition for younger children, while older children are encouraged to write a short story of up to 500 words. There are 4 age categories, 0-3, 4-7, 8-12 and 13+, with prizes for the winner and runner up in each category.
One of the judges is local author Lynda M Stewart, who has written the children’s book Who’s in My Bowl? Lynda has donated some of the books being given out as prizes, and to be given to deserving children around the Ferndown area. These will be distributed around 4 March.
In addition, there will also be an online family yoga session with Isabel Brookes.
The competition closes Sunday 7 March. More information about the events, and the competition rules can be found here: https://ferndowncommunitycoronavirussupport.org.uk/world-book-day-2021-4th-march-2/
