Parkfield World Book Day revisited
Snow may have put a damper on the real World Book Day, but it didn’t stop the pupils of Parkfield School staging their own splendiferous sequel.
Bournemouth’s only Free School, Parkfield in Hurn, was filled with children dressed as literary characters, created by everyone from Lewis Carroll to Roald Dahl and Julia Donaldson.
Interim headteacher Ian Golding, said, “The students and staff have truly outdone themselves this year. Real effort and thought has gone into all of these costumes and it’s been wonderful to see the school filled with such larger-than-life characters.”
Parkfield is an all-through school for children aged 4-16.
