Meridian TV’s Kerry Swain gets a driving lesson
Yellow Buses is to conduct two further pre-employment training courses targeted especially at women.
They are following on from the successful Ladies’ Recruitment Open Day, which was covered on TV and saw a surge of interest – one woman who turned up at the open day has now been offered a full-time position at the company.
Each person who completes the pre-employment course will be guaranteed a job interview with Yellow Buses, or an advice session on career opportunities and job seeking.
One course has already been held and the others – which are completely free – will cover the whole passenger transport industry.
Each is spread over two weeks – typically 30 hours each week – and is being held in conjunction with People 1st Ltd.
Yellow Buses employs about 350 staff and has about 30 women driving on its fleet.
The courses begin on March 11 and March 25.
