Wimborne Community Theatre (WCT) is recruiting young actors, aged between 8-13 years, to perform in a scene in its new production ‘What They Left Behind’ a site specific historical play about people’s lives in Wimborne during the First World War in 1916.
The actors would need to have talent, commitment and good team working skills. The children’s scene is a mixture of comedy and drama, calling for skills in period characterisation, singing and physical theatre.
The children will double for each part and perform three nights each in May. Rehearsals will take place on Thursday evening 7.30pm-9pm starting on 7 April and running until 12 May. All day rehearsals will be held on 7 and 14 May with a dress rehearsal on 17 May. There will be six performance evenings in May (19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and 28).
All children will receive a certificate for their Record of Achievement, signed by artistic director, Tony Horitz, a professional playwright and director, with many years’ experience in children’s theatre.
