Giant humbugs, animated monsters, clay roly poly birds and drama were just a few of the fabulous arts activities on offer at the Heatherlands and Three Legged Cross Art Weeks.
The activities, inspired by children’s author Roald Dahl, were held during the half term period and attracted 130 local children and adults at the Heatherlands Centre and 60 people a day at Three Legged Cross First School.
A team of Dorset-wide artists were on hand to help children sculpt, paint, act, play music, dance and try their hand at a range of arts and crafts.
Culture Manager for Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership and Project Coordinator, Tracy Cooper said, “The aim of these projects is to provide half term diversions for young people from the local neighbourhood through the provision of high quality and positive inter-generational activities. The art weeks play a strong part in bringing the community together.”
The activities were funded by the Neighbourhood Panels 10 & 8, Partnership and Communities Together (PACT), Synergy Housing and East Dorset District Council.
