Lewis-Manning Hospice are inviting people to take part in their Hospice to Hospice Walk on Saturday 18 May from Oakhaven Hospice in Mudeford to Lewis-Manning in Sandbanks, or the opposite way if preferred.
The walk, now in its fourth successful year, is a 26 mile walk, known as a marathon walk, which takes place along the coastal path between Poole and Lymington with walkers supporting the hospice of their choice. The route is almost entirely flat so is ideal for walkers of all standards, especially as it’s non-competitive – a chance to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
For those who think that a full marathon is too much, they can start halfway and complete a half marathon and still join in the fun. Miss Dorset, Stephanie Wyatt and Lewis the Bear will officially start the walk at 8.30am at Evening Hill, Poole. Registration is at 8.00am.
Walkers supporting either Hospice can choose to start from either Poole or Oakhaven, and walk to respective destinations.
Clare Gallie, CEO of Lewis-Manning Hospice, said,
“Everyone has their own reason for taking part, walking for a loved one, a work colleague, to keep fit, or to meet new friends. It’s an enjoyable walk along the seafront, with no traffic to worry about, you can do it at your own speed, getting in your stride and support the charity.”
