To mark the 40th anniversary of Beaulieu Boatjumble on Sunday 23 April, children under 12 will be given free admission to the show for the first time, with a special reduced ticket price for teenagers.
Nautical enthusiasts with young children and teenagers heading for Beaulieu Boatjumble on 23 April, will benefit from a celebratory special offer: children under 12 will be given free admission to the show for the first time, and there will be a special reduced ticket price for teenagers.
The first Boatjumble on Sunday 16 April 1978 saw more than 7,000 eager visitors browse 270 stands, with numbers of traders almost doubling the following year. Now the event is heralded as the largest outdoor sale of maritime items in Europe.
As well as the Boatjumble marking its 40th year, two other companies will be joining in with their own special anniversaries.
The event’s media sponsor Practical Boat Owner, will celebrate its 50th birthday at the show and BHG, which has just opened a new BHG Service Chandlery at the Beaulieu River Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour, will celebrate its 70th year.
Offering 100s of stands with countless boating bargains, Beaulieu Boatjumble will have a new layout for this special year. It is also the place to gather nautical knowledge with an Ask the Experts feature.
Another highlight for buyers and sellers is Trunk Traders. It is the ideal opportunity for amateur jumblers to clear their lockers, sheds and garages and sell unwanted nautical paraphernalia from their car boots. If you need an anchor or aqualung, winch or windlass, the chances are you’ll find it at Beaulieu.
Boatmart offers a selection of new and used boats for sale, while Boatmall offers a wide selection of the latest maritime products from leading manufacturers.
For Beaulieu River mooring holders, an event-day shuttle bus will run from 9am to 6pm from the Beaulieu River Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour to the Beaulieu attraction.
Advance event tickets are on sale until 13 April at £8.70 an adult and £5 for 13 to 17-year-olds. Under-12s go free.
Standard event tickets, available from 14 April or can be bought on the door, are £9.70 an adult and £6 for 13 to 17-year-olds. Under-12s go free.
