Bournemouth care home raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
A coffee morning attended by the mayor and mayoress of Bournemouth raised £110.60 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Cancer Support has had a boost to its funds thanks to a coffee morning held at Care South’s Queensmead at Castle Dene care home in Bournemouth.
The home was joined by the mayor of Bournemouth Cllr Bob Lawton and the mayoress June Lawton. Staff and relatives baked and donated an array of scrumptious goods for the coffee morning, and residents became involved by baking fairy cakes and decorating them. The home raised a total of £110.60.
Lesley Wheal, activities organiser at Queensmead at Castle Dene, said “The coffee morning was a great success, and it was lovely to have the mayor and mayoress in attendance for such a worthy cause. Everyone had so much fun baking the cakes and of course eating them too.”
