Bournemouth park homes residents to be evacuated
Because of flood levels, residents of the three sites are being advised to leave their homes as the water is rising.
Residents at Iford Bridge Residential Park, Redhill Park and Wheatplot Park Homes Sites are today (Wednesday 28 January) being advised to leave their homes due to rising flood levels.
The environment agency has advised that flood waters are currently rising and are expected to peak late afternoon.
Council officers are on-site to support with evacuations and to check that those residents who have chosen to remain in their homes are safe and supported.
Cllr Andy Hadley, BCP Council’s Cabinet member for Climate Response, Environment and Energy, said: “BCP Council officers are working with the Environment Agency to support local communities affected by flooding caused by Storm Chandra.
“We know this must be a worrying time for the residents of Iford Bridge Home Park and Redhill and Wheatplot Homes Sites impacted by flooding. Our team, along with emergency services, are currently on-site provide information, support and reassurance to those affected.”
