‘Caretober’ launches at The Dolphin in aid of MYTIME charity
Donate your unopened toiletries to support young carers.
The Dolphin shopping centre in Poole is home to a new charity drive and donation point. Caretober asks members of the community to donate brand-new, unopened toiletries to benefit young people in Dorset who are supported by local charity MYTIME Young Carers.
Carmen Davies, Community Manager at The Dolphin, said: “We are proud to be working with MYTIME this Caretober to provide young people in the charity’s care with a special gift of self-care. Some children as young as five are responsible for looking after a family member or a loved one at home. While we understand that our donation isn’t going to change the reality of the very difficult scenarios young carers face, our hope is that a gift of a new body lotion or bath bomb helps spread some joy and makes them feel cared for when they are usually the ones tasked with caregiving.
“The Dolphin team and I ask shoppers to buy an extra top-up of their favourite body spray or shower gel the next time they’re in the centre and pop it in our donation point before heading home. We are grateful for any donations people can make to support young carers across the county.”
Caretober is running throughout October 2026 at The Dolphin Centre, with a donation point conveniently located opposite Starbucks in the centre’s mall, found on the ground floor.
