Christchurch will light up this weekend
You will find Santa in his grotto in Saxon Square this Saturday, 25 November, along with his Lapland post box getting ready for the grand Christmas light switch on event.
Santa is hoping to have a live reindeer or two with him, but don’t expect to see Rudolph because he will be too busy shining his nose for Christmas Eve.
As well as a Christmas market, craft market, food, drink and live entertainment there will be seasonal fayre including mulled wine and mulled cider.
Following a procession that starts at around 4.30pm at Priory Church, the countdown to the lights switch on will happen in Saxon Square so keep an eye out for the mayor, Cllr Nick Geary who will throw the switch.
On a different note, Bournemouth Hospital Charity invites the public to join them for a free Christmas carol service at Christchurch Priory on Wednesday, 13 December at 7.30pm.
The first ever hospital carol service features readings by patients, consultants and chaplains, as well as prayers and carols that all can join in.
Special musical accompaniment will be provided by the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir and mulled wine and mince pies will be offered for all who attend this festive event.
While the service is free to attend, Bournemouth Hospital Charity would happily welcome any donations that the public may like to give through BHCharity.org/priory-concert/ or even on the night itself.
